Welcome to Books Worth Your Bucks! This is an ongoing blog hop with fellow authors to introduce Indie or small pubbed authors to our readers. Each Friday, we will spotlight an author’s book, give buy links along with the links to the other authors participating in the hop, and say why we think this book is worth your bucks.
Part of our reasoning to do this is to bring more attention to the Indie authors we love to read. With so many books out there now, it’s hard to figure out what is a good, well-written book…or not. Keep in mind, these are our opinions, things we like to read.
Today, I’m reviewing Morning My Angel by Sue Brown.
Morning My Angel Blurb
Josh Cooper, top US security field agent, is sent on an inter-agency assignment to London, when a partner in his firm goes missing in suspicious circumstances. Used to working in sole charge of his well-honed team, he clashes heads with the handsome, but pompous Cal, his UK co-operator and superior. Josh’s gut tells him something is wrong. He’s being kept out of the loop and Cal’s agenda is running on a different path.
He also has a personal issue to deal with. He’s involved in a cyber-relationship with “Charlie”, an unknown man who connected with Josh by accident. Their banter has led to deeper respect and a sexual interest, but now Josh is faced with a growing attraction to Cal. Between this conflict and the tension of the mission, Josh’s heart and head are overworked and confused. Things can’t get much worse.
Then Josh discovers the enemies he’s seeking have a new target: him.
My Review
I had never read Sue Brown’s books before. Luckily for me, I happened to pick it up while I was sick and unable to accomplish more than lie on the couch and read. Why do I say this? Because I couldn’t put Morning My Angel down, and being sick was a good excuse not to have to get up and do anything else, including cooking.
Fast-paced, riveting, and a dash of humor, this book had me from the first page. I liked Josh and his lover Cal, and I had no idea who the killer was until the end. As I usually figure that out within a couple of chapters, I say, “Well done, Ms. Brown.”
