Swimming in the pandemic is challenging for everyone. Being a masters swimmer, and the lanes limited to 1 person at a time, it’s hard to get a time with my team. This means swimming alone, no coach to give me a workout, and with limited time. Swimmers are a breed unto their own, and I’m missing my tribe right now, but I hope these workouts designed for the intermediate/advanced masters swimmer, help others in the same position as me.

Swimming has become challenging since the advent of the pandemic. I’m grateful I still have a pool where I can swim, even if it is alone. This masters swimmer is missing her pod, but I’m writing my own workouts and getting in. That’s why I’ve started sharing my workouts because finding workouts that work for my speed and abilities has been challenging. I hope that if you’ve found my blog when looking for solo workouts, it’s been helpful.

Today is Sprint Friday. This is a sprint swim 50-minute workout for a 25 yard pool. I try to pack as much quality yardage in each workout as I can. This is geared toward intermediate/advanced masters swimmers. The yardage will range from 2500-3100 yards, depending on the day and the focus. I will post every day I swim in a pool.

Now that I’m swimming alone, due to COVID, I’ve had to be more creative with my swim workouts as I no longer have a coach. Being limited to 50-minutes (or less) has made it even more challenging. This is the first 50-minute swim workout I’m posting. Hopefully, this will help inspire other swimmers who’ve found themselves without their tribe (masters team mates and coach).
